The Aarhus mask, (Odin's mask) from the runestone found in the foundation of Aarhus's old watermill in Mølleparken in 1850. The stone also had the following inscription in runes: "Gunulv and Øgot and Aslak and Rolf erected this stone after their friend, Ful. He found death ... when kings fought". It is assumed that it is meant to represent a gryle, which is a ghostly creature, and the model for the Aarhus mask was probably made of leather and used by spirit mediums in the late Viking Age around the year 1000. The stone is located at Moesgård Museum.
