The Triskele is one of the oldest Irish symbols, according to researchers these carvings are believed to have been made in the Neolithic period or around 3200 BC and you can find many of them on the stones of Newgrange. Newgrange is a burial mound in the Neolithic complex of Brú na Bóinne in Newgrange in County Meath, Ireland.

The spirals might have changed over the centuries, but the basic meanings include:
Three stages of life: life, death and rebirth
Three elements: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
Three domains: earth, sea and sky, past, present and future.
